I'm an underpaid malcontent/third shift desk goon at a motel off of I-40. While the job isn't the best in the world, it does allow me to meet interesting people from time to time. I look at as reverse engineering extensive travel. I've been writing off and on for a few years and now want to get truly serious about it. I've written a 250 word novel and several short stories. I'm hoping that getting involved with community sites, like this one, will help hone my skills.
I consider myself an avid writer trapped in the life of a casual writer.
Most short stories I write are horror with a few that are just odd. My book is Sword & Sorcery/Military.
I play a lot of video games. I prefer ones with deep stories and dynamic, memorable characters like Mass Effect and Red Dead Redemption. I also play pencil and paper RPGs. One project that I've been working on is an RPG of my own design.
I honestly don't think I have a favorite genre. I tend to like what I like on an individual basis regardless of genre.
Any of the R.E. Howard, Conan stories. Almost all of the Sharpe's sereies by Bernard Cornwell. Fight Club and Choke by Chuck Palahniuk. A book I read as a kid about space ships. Sadly, I can't remember what it was called.
R.E. Howard, Bernard Cornwell, H.P. Lovecraft, Chuck Palahniuk, Jack McKinney(James Luceno & Brian Daley), just to name a few.
I never read many poems. If I had to give an answer I'd say Samuel Taylor Coleridge for Rime of the Ancient Mariner and the Iron Maiden song it inspired.
I'll have to think on that one.
Old school heavy metal for the most part. Iron Maiden is my favorite band. Otherwise I listen to a little bit of everything aside for hardcore rap.
Fight Club, the untainted Star Wars movies/Episodes IV, V, and VI, some of the Star Trek Movies, Requiem for a Dream, Night of the Living Dead, The Terminator, Highlander but NONE OF THE SEQUELS.
