A month ago... Wow. That just shows the fog I've been in. I'm just now updating. So, as I was saying, a month ago I released book three of the Why not Wyoming series, A Star of Her Own. Three years after I published book 2. The truth of the matter is, Star was done long before it made it to Amazon. I just needed to pull my head out of my butt and handle the business side of things.

My son came home from the Army for a visit in November. He was a fantastic kick in the butt. No, I didn't do anything while he was home other than savor every moment with him, but it helped lift the blue fog away. He has that amazing ability to make the sun shine for me. My pride and joy. *HeartV* Of course after he left I had the worries of him settling in a new state, new base, wondering if he was okay, was he making friends ... omg, I am such a mom. He's a grown-ass man. Twenty-three last month. But he'll always be my baby.

Then Covid-19 rolled in. A lot like 9-11 ... the lockdown and craziness were things I thought I would never see in our country. Having my husband home from work for a month and a half was strange and comforting all at the same time. When he ventured back out I worried. He was going to have to deliver materials to the counties around us. Places where the cases were in the hundreds or even thousands ... while we hadn't made it our of the 30's. It was slow in reaching our small county. In fact it is just now that things are getting bad here. Yesterday our local health department made masks mandatory. Just yesterday. Such a strange world we live in.

Back to those three years, there were frantic bouts of writing ... and there were long droughts of staring. There were weeks in the swamps of sorrow. There were starts and stops. Other projects. There is even a stand-alone book finished. I wish I was a writer like the amazing Danielle Steele who sits down every day and cranks the words out dutifully. I'm not. I'm one of those inspired writers. I write in spurts. And then slow to picking and thinking.

As I said, Star has really been done a while. In re-reading it for the hundredth time, I finally realized why I was dragging my feet. Boone and Cami made me laugh. They made me feel good. They cleared the fog. I didn't want to let go of them. But you know what? Boone and Cami's story isn't finished. In finally figuring out the problem, I also realized releasing book three doesn't mean I lose them. Thank God most of you here are writers. You might understand my insane thought process. Or at least be able to sympathize a bit.

So, anyway ... those are a few of my disjointed thoughts that just needed to be tossed out there. I will leave links to A Star of Her Own below if you are one of those that has been enjoying the Why not Wyoming series. I hope it makes you laugh and wraps you in a warm blanket as it does me.

Love & Chocolate,

Anneliese *Heart*

Oh my gosh! Has it been over three weeks? *Blush* UGH!! SO sorry! So, the last week of January I came down with the plague. No, that's not an official diagnosis, but it is the only way I can describe the pure hell I felt like. That hung around for two weeks and I still have the nagging cough that refuses to go away, but I'm hanging in there.

Now for the news you actually care about *Wink* ... Guided Home (book 2 in the Why not Wyoming Series) is back from the editor, changes and corrections have been made and it just came back from layout! W000T!!! Getting SO close!!! *Heart* SO, what does that mean? Well, it means that I have been busy today uploading files for the paperback and eBook version and running them through all of the checks. The official page count has been sent off to my cover artist, the mega talented Amy Queau, so that she can put the final tweak on the spine. The next step when the paperback files pass checks is ordering the actual print proof. That should be happening in the next 24-48 hours if everything checks out. WHEW! I wasn't kidding that we are getting close!!!

Be on the lookout for a cover reveal soon. *BigSmile*

*Balloonv**ConfettiV**ConfettiV**BalloonV* The first draft of book two in the Why not Wyoming Series is done!!! *Balloonv**ConfettiV**ConfettiV**BalloonV* *BigSmile*

If you can't tell ... I'm very excited! *Laugh* The plan is to let it sit for at least a week or two, (which is KILLING me), and then go through it for the initial author edit before sending it off to a professional. In the mean time, I will get to work on the little things like, the back cover blurb, the dedication, and the other interior matter.

The cover art is almost ready. Waiting on a few last things. I hope to have that to share with you soon. An extremely talented poet that you here on WDC are familiar with is writing a piece to be included in the book honoring our lovable couple. I'm super geeked about that! More news soon! *Wink* Everything is falling together!!

Anneliese *Heart*

Exciting news! Due to ... reasons not exciting .. blah blah blah *Wink* ...book 1 of the series is getting a face lift! And it turned out SO gorgeous!! The super talented Amy Queau created this beauty (and the cover for book two which you will be seeing very soon!) and I love how it turned out. SOO not to confuse anyone ...NEW cover, NEW title, SAME great CJ and Annie romance. *Heart* Why not Wyoming? becomes the series title. Tell me what you think!

Things have been more than a little crazy lately. And I'm not just talking about the author's mental health. *Wink* With visits, moves, holidays and deaths *Sad* I've also been dealing with new cover art, series, teasers, and even title changes. In between all of that I've been trying to write. A lot of people, non-writer people, keep asking me why I even try with everything else going on. Give yourself a break, they say. They don't understand like you do, that writing is my escape. I find peace in my passion for storytelling. *Peace* It's good to know that when life gets crazy, and the non-writer folk don't understand, I can slip off to WDC for a few minutes and be among my kind. *Heart* Thank you all.

Love,

Anneliese *Heart*

GUILT ... is a slippery slope. When writing I feel guilty about all of the things I'm putting off, or the friends and family being short changed. On the other hand ... when I'm away from the computer, I feel I should be writing. *Headbang* Time for some chocolate.

A little stress reliever!
