Josie at pow wow Josie at the pow wow 2

Just to start off with a little introduction. My name is Angie. I live in Oregon with my husband Chris and our little baby girl Josie. I have lived all over the U.S., My parents were hippies and loved to travel so I had a more than normal childhood. I have lived in about 14 states and have been to 48. Alaska and Hawaii are the two I haven't been to, yet.

I really enjoy anything and everything artistic, I draw, I paint, I write, and I crochet sort of, I'm trying my best but my blankets keep coming out lop sided, but hey at least I haven't given up. :D

Now about my day today. It was a great day today! Our LO (little one) got to go to her first pow wow today for my husbands side of the family. That's right, Josie is starting to learn about her native heritage, it's never too early. I can't believe she's almost 4 months old already. When everyone told me how fast they grow, they weren't kidding. I still have an internal alarm that wakes me every hour to check on her. I will say there is nothing like having a child, I never new it was so magical, that special bond between you and your child.

Now back to the pow wow, it was my first time to a pow wow as well and I must say it was so beautiful with all of the dancing, chants, and colorful regalia. We've decided we're going to go every year. The only downside was we didn't plan very well so there was no seats and we had to stand, which I don't mind when I'm not holding 14+ lbs of baby. I brought her stroller, but I wanted her to be able to see everything and have a good view. After the beginning ceremony, we looked around, there were tents set up with all kinds of goodies like homemade bath products which I love all natural stuff like that and dream catchers which are so great, I've made one myself and they are not easy to make.

Well that's all for today. Ta Ta :)
