I just noticed that "Supernatural Beauty passed the 30,000 view mark! I really need to get back to The Spartan storyline there. In the mean time, here's a new BB chapter on The Martian 's storyline for the weekend...

The Murderer's Map  made the Action/Adventure newsletter.

I would totally love to make the Poetry newsletter, but, alas, I haven't managed it. Maybe someday...

I wrote my first entry in the "Science Fiction Short Story Contest. The story had to emphasize spy tech. This one contains a bit of beautification and just a hint of superstrength. :)

I have my sights set on the sci-fi contest today. There will be a bit of beautification and maybe a twist in the tale. Nancy will be pretty incredible, but won't have superpowers. I have an idea. Wrote the first 700 words this morning. I'll have to see if I can fit it into a 2,000 word package! I think I can... expect it by the end of the day today.

I didn’t happen to unknowingly write nothing at all for a secret contest that doesn’t exist. Honest. [HikerAngel crosses her fingers behind back and smirks.]

I couldn’t possibly divulge information about a story like that ‘cause if I told you, I’d have to fictionally kill you. Kinda like I did with Chainsaw Serpent the other day. ;)

I managed a third win this week at the Writer's Cramp flash fiction contest on writing.com. The first two were with stories, the last with a story poem. Then today Angus gave me a SCREAMS!!! Weekly Win for Witches' Revenge. This has been a great week for contests! :)

And it follows the new trend I've noticed where print copies of the book are actually less expensive than the ebook version.

Fangus told me a couple of weeks ago that he nominated "Cry Wolf! for a Quill Award, but I just found out what he said about me in the nomination.

"I've followed this spectacular author since the day she joined, and her talent for FF and short stories always amazes me!"

So kind of him to say...

So I tied for the win in my first shot at "The Writer's Cramp, which was nice. I've been losing most of my SCREAMS!!! lately, so a win was a nice change of pace.

Anyway, Chainsaw Serpent was the driving force between my other story today. This time, hullabaloo22 was my unknowing inspiration. :)

I had someone message me that they loved the subtlety in my writing. I giggled a little and thought about the fact my story the day before was about Drugs and Sex. I'm pretty sure my subsequent story contained multiple F-bombs and was rated XGC.

I don't mind subtlety, and I'm sure that the reader meant it as a compliment.

But I'm not really here for subtlety. I have enough of that in my everyday life.

Pacing a good story is not unlike pacing oneself in a long distance race. It’s a shame I’m not very good at either... ;)
