Blogging, to take over the world.
The object is to teach an old dog new tricks. (not much hope ... )

15 June 2011 @ 2022 : an eclipse of the moon started; lasting till 0002.

That is 2 minutes after 12 o'clock (midnight) for the time-infirmed, and cold enough to freeze anything off a brass monkey.

I chickened out of the complete show, did peek at a few stages, tried a few photos - which flopped big time - and watched the news replay. All and all, if you have seen one, .... there will be another in 2012, if we are still here or not.

Swallows, there was a few swallows flying around today, didn't anybody tell them that this is the middle of winter, there should be no food. Well, I did see a fly today, in the house, and a few flies in the iguana's quarters, there are not supposed to be flies either.

And a great, big, brown, eagle; flying over the marsh, looking for a meal. Hovering, darting, flirting around, would better describe the flight. Still have to see if it was an eagle or a falcon. It was impressive, against a stiff breeze, a mere 30 yards in front of me.

That was while I was watching my neighbors ostriches through the binoculars. Can I say; finders keepers? They were on the other side of the marsh, on our farm. (I have ostriches!)

The ostriches must have been spooked into jumping the fence, as they have never crossed into our farm. There are rumors about people hunting with dogs. The group consists of four ostriches (a pair and two off-spring), and these were only the two. Prince went to look, did not see the other two. Tomorrow, we will search again.

Ah, and there's an emu around. We almost had it. Due to certain mis-placed decisions, it managed to slip away from us. Maybe - next time.

Also, the warthogs are still around. For how long, nobody would know, as they are in the area of the poachers.

Four funerals and a wedding.

This should be the title of my next blog.

Prince is now formally engaged. That means a pending wedding.

Did I hear someone laughing, and at my expense?

"Elephant in the room" is an English metaphorical idiom for an obvious truth that is being ignored or goes unaddressed. The idiomatic expression also applies to an obvious problem or risk no one wants to discuss.[1] (Wiki)

And I thought I had problems ?

Who said anything about 'writing' ?

Add to the list, this was also Youth Day - another public holiday.

This is not mine, not any more. It was, at another time, another place, and another world.

When I was more foolish, more ambitious, more stars in my eyes, and less wisdom. Not much has changed since then.

The stars have dimmed a bit - better insight and worse input. Wisdom - still waiting. Ambition has been replaced by lethargy, and the foolishness has increased proportionally.

What is it; There is no fool like an old fool.

Guessing games - A child, whose children we adopted, passed away this week. That is a long story.

The legacy is for her's to bear. The answers gone forever, forgiveness too late, never will they have peace in their minds, unless they forgive and forget.

On we go, a new generation. Their heritage written in the mistakes of their forefathers.

At least the technology is improving. Yet - making it even more difficult for the masses to catch up in the already widening gap over the knowledge bridge.

This is the story of life.

Here we have Father Death, and standing next to him, little boy Life. There they go, hand in hand, from generation to generation. That is the way, that is truth.

What we do with our allotted time, that is what we call life.

Give me a break, it's cold, it's Blue Monday, and I'd rather be fishing or something - somewhere else.

As I walked out on Saturday morning to inspect the frost of the day, and lo and behold - there was a small group of swallows skimming the air waves, looking for what ?

Maybe it was a question of the late bird looking for the late worm.

Otherwise they will not make it. I hope they find those late worms, else, dark days await them.

The golden-orb spiders are now dying off in their webs, the seasonal butterflies are following suite, and soon all the summer plants will be gone.

This will leave us with a few measly winter die-hard plants. They do their best to give us a show, considering all-'n-all.

Politicians and judges, what a strange marriage they make. They - of course - will deny this. The lady of justice and truth ...... ''''we have a interruption here, 24 hours later '''' ...... is blindfolded for a reason. The scales may be loaded, and into whose favor, she will never know. Therefore, she needs a blindfold, and no man can blame her for the failure of justice not served.

A humble life with peace and quiet is better than a splendid one with danger and risk - (www.topword.net/?Adages)

What happened to - Rather a day as a lion than a lifetime as a lamb. - ?

One thing you can bet on in life, you will never have all the answers.

Good news.

Somewhere in the world, the AIDS figure is dropping.

Now, with all that is being told to us, you can believe anything, nothing, or make your choice - what can you believe or not.

Let us assume that the news is true.

How did they do it ? Free condoms; better education; an awareness drive; advocating self control; religion - it does not matter - they are doing it.

When you read about it, what do you find.

Everyone (well, those that have, or need a soap box) are claiming victory!

When the war is won, medals to the victors.
And a pat on the head to all the generals who spear-headed the different battles.
To the soldiers ... Some who may never return, some altered forever in mind, spirit, and/or body, and the ones who at the end of it all - they know - they know the story at ground level. Well done; lest we forget !

If this is an another story, as many things are these days, then it will be a great pity.

If it is not ... why is the rest of the world not really, I mean - REALLY - not taking note.

UGANDA ... of all places, can put claim to such good news.

Yes, the war is not over, the word AIDS will forever be with us, as would be every other minor word pertaining to man's greatest sport.

For the price of one new super weapon of war, we could flood a country with so many condoms, then they will be everywhere. Freely available to all. Think of all the things that condoms could be used for.

As a toy for the poor kids, balloons always fascinate children. At the same time they will get to accept the product as an everyday item. All the clever people could get a fantastic marketing plan.

Objections: we did forget about those, did we not?

A person's life is worth less than one ounce of prevention ?

We must consider personal prejudice, religious dogma, and plain ... (I need a word here. I did want to say stupidity, only then, I know that most people are not all that stupid - I did say most !) ... sometimes, very rarely, I do not know what to say.

The weather is totally out of sync. It does have its benefits. It shuts the farmer up for once. Nobody is complaining about the drought. Not a word about 'when is it going to rain'; and were the farmers then satisfied? Farmers are never satisfied.

21st May - the day the world is going to end, it is official now. We do not know which year yet. As good a date as any other, I suppose.

The blog has been started. This is the other blog, the TOY. Either I am getting more clued up, or this one is that much easier to get to know.

Everything comes to he who waits (?)

The world seems to be really spinning off-center, the news is getting stranger by the day, the weather is totally out of the normal, and people are doing the most desperate things.

I remember they had those days; the darkness is always preceded by strange omens. I was reading Steinbeck "The Moon Is Down", and there he mentions it as well, that in times of war, even the weather is at odds with the world. - The world is coming to an end ! - Not true, it is only adjusting to whatever the newest fad is. The world does not mind changing, it is the others that do.

The swallows left to the north, and the strangest thing was - the way they were still gathering feathers right up to the last. They would fly in low, and collect all the feathers off the ground, there are many geese and turkey feathers around. Then ... one day - they were gone. The wild geese, and all the other water birds are moving into V-formation, and moving north, every day. Soon they will all be gone. And only us domestics will be left behind.

Time and tide waits for no man.

And whenever there is an end, there is also a new beginning.

I heard there was some new news, news of a positive thread. I will have to confirm this, and report back on it.

My godchild had a daughter last month - the 25th.

Time flies. And the cows have been calving frequently as well.

These two items have no bearing upon each other, although - well done to all !!

The first harvest of the season has been taken from the fields. The sunflower crop was a great success, the heads were as big and laden with seeds as can be wanted. Even the price is impressive. One happy farmer - smiling, and a bank manager wiping the sweat from his brow - he is safe for another season.

"Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them."

Fair enough ... us humans had an issue about apples, snakes, and other stories, therefore ... we have to scratch around in the soil to get a bit of bread on the table.

And those rock pigeons that came and saw all that lovely sunflower, they got shot to bits. So much for 'free food'. All's fair in love, war, and farming.

Again, the farmers have to defend themselves against the free-booting rock pigeons from town. Those pigeons can strip a land of its bounty in a very short time.

War is never fair.

In Confucianism, human beings are teachable, improvable and perfectible through personal and communal endeavour especially including self-cultivation and self-creation.( Wiki)

The ants are single-minded in their approach to life. The workers, work. The Queen cavorts with the selected few, and lays eggs. That was it .... really !

I mean, all that - - - - " Go to the ants and get wise " - - - - that's it !

Who want's to be an ant ? NOT ME !

Maybe .... only maybe - if I can get into the selected few - now that would not be that bad. Maybe ?

Some-one suggested I have a look at Confucius. A wise and clever man, they say. Why, the biggest group of people in the world, follow his ideas. Surely, he must know something. So - - - - off I went to have a look - - - - the introduction speaks for itself.

Confucius has not met my family yet !

(You must excuse the person at Wiki, as that person can only speak English.)

Sky Cat went to his new home on Sunday.
Apparently a little girl, who I have not met.
The girl that wanted him originally, could not keep him, as they already have a cat, and according to her, she has a mean step-father, he won't allow another cat in the house.

Good luck to him.

The spiders are really taking over the world here......... fortunately, they are big and visible, and quite harmless. Although I must say - they do not look harmless, they could give a vampire a go for scariness. (Are vampires scary or funny - or both ?)

Wisdom:
I am running a bit short on this commodity, as Life is teaching me new lessons everyday.
Yet, not supplying answers.
Therefore, hours are spent sitting under the tree of wisdom, and waiting for enlightenment.
Another commodity in short supply -

Googled google ..... 'wisdom' (maybe there may be some there)

--- Wisdom is a deep understanding and realizing of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to choose or act to consistently produce the optimum results with a minimum of time and energy. --- (Wikipedia)

and in English that is ?

Wait -- maybe I should go and watch the ants! (A report will be brought back)

*Reading**Pumpkin*

The last effort failed due to a bad connection, internet-wise, and a brain that is out of sincro.
The sun was shining, it was a nice day, we had a nice shower last night and a pleasant day.
I even moved the new babies outside and got stuck into a few chores that needed doing.
What was that stupid song from way back - 'Why do the sun keep on shining?'

The sun has nothing to do with it.

The sun is there for every one, it is always on time, it asks nothing and does its work everyday. It gives life, sustains life, and if all else do as they should, it will leave us in peace to have a good night's rest.

We get one everyday - a sunrise and a sunset.

With a bit of luck, now and then, the sunsets are worth taking a photo off, the rest we take for granted.
