College is a lot more fun than high school. Trust me. Go for it!

The difference is that you have to dedicate yourself to it and I know you will. Don't miss any classes or it gets harder to keep up. Some classes go from one area to another and it seems as if you can't take your time. Just when you barely get the hang of it, they move onto some other topic.

Not to toot my own horn, but amazingly I got A's and B's in college courses, but never had grades like that in high school, only certain things. My weakness--math. I hate it. I try so hard and just can't seem to do that complicated stuff. I can do simple math like give change or even keep a checkbook balance, but I really hate it.

Otherwise, I would have been a scientist. Science is so very interesting. I did take up a few courses anyway and learned about DNA fingerprinting and compared radiographs.

Anyway, my point is now is a great time to take classes I mean agewise. Your mind is more receptive because you want to do this rather than feel like you're forced to.

Memories like that will of course stay with you for the rest of your life and sometimes I think they really should. It is good that some of us carry a memory of what war really is.

I have a similar memory of the one time I got to visit China Beach. Have a good Memorial Day and thank you for your service.

Your blog can be any number of things. If you are wary of a certain entry being too "whatever", just put it on "my eyes only" and don't worry.

Is your blog mostly for you or a way to reach out to others ... do you want it to be informative, artistic, writing, essay, events, opinions, poems, tips, advice? Even a daily rant is a gooooooooooood thing. Read around the site, choose a style or styles that suit you and go for it.
