My review is based on professional editing points. It is meant to be honest, encouraging, and respectful in accordance with WDC guidelines.

THE STORY

Paul sends home a wild letter to Mom and Dad that almost gives them a heart attack, so they plan their revenge.

WHAT I LIKED

I loved the comical elements of the story and just how wild Paul's "gotcha" letter grew wilder and wilder.

POV NARRATION/TENSE

Paul's story is told in the form of a letter. Mom and Dad's story is told in the form of narration.

OPENING PARAGRAPH

The opening paragraph intrigues the reader as Paul starts out with "The sights and sounds of Tanzania are truly amazing..."

CHARACTERS

Paul is a good hearted person with a good sense of humor. Turns out his parents also share his sense of humor.

FLOW & PACING

The letter kiddingly set up Paul's story, the middle and ending show the reader how Mom and Dad dealt with his tall tales.

People wish the dead could return because they miss them so much. You knew that, I'm just making an obvious statement saying that. I agree with you though, I seriously doubt the dead wish to return. They're in another place, another existence, with no desire to be back with us. They are probably having too much fun also. Fun, in a different way though, not fun as you and I know it.

THE STORY

The pirates steal the loot and it's up to Webbie and StephBee to get the treasure back.

WHAT I LIKED

I liked the unique plot involving me and Webbie in saving the treasure.

POV NARRATION/TENSE

This is told in the 3rd person omniscient. Past tense was used appropriately.

DIALOGUE

The dialogue accents the narration.

OPENING PARAGRAPH

The opening paragraph does a good job setting up the dilemma - the treasure is stolen and it's up to Webbie and her faithful Bee to get it back.

CHARACTERS

The witch, the Bee and Jimmy take to the air and sea to find the treasure. They're brave and courageous.

In 1993, a TV commercial Dad acted in was aired between overs during the Cricket World Cup. He started being recognised in the street. Strangers held their umbrella over him when it rained. He's had his share of fame!

It's incredible the difference attitude can make.
When I ask myself 'what is there to be grateful about in this situation', my attitude changes and I see the blessing instead of the annoyance!
