A cozy corner where stories, laughter, and the invetibale chaos thrive!

Where humour is often found in the mundane, where the trivial becomes of utmost importance, where, well...where I Live!

Since becoming a Members of the groups below, I will use the daily prompt, as well as, well...sharing the sporadically mundane everyday, that I find carries just a Smidge of humor. ;)

Yes...it's here! The frigid temperature of 46 degress farenheit. I know...I know! Those of you who experience Real winters Scoff at a temperature like this. You, no doubt claim such a temperature a balmy summer day.

Well...not I. I am about to break out my Snowshoes! Well, er, if I actually owned some, I would.

Thankfully, we made the very smart decision, if I may say so, to go to the tree farm to cut down our Quirky (because they Always are) Christmas tree yesterday. The weather was in the high 60's, which was Much more enjoyable. The weather today is not at all.

I sit her typing this in front of our partially decorated tree, due to having disposed of most of our very Cheap and even more Tacky plastic bulb/ornaments. Hence, our tree has a Bare Backside! *Laugh*

Thanksgiving was a small affair as usual,(very nice weather, around 70 degrees)just kids and grandkids. The only Eventful thing that happened was my husband Completely Charring the ham, as he decided to leave it out to fry, while he came in to eat. He thought that was the way to do it. Needless to say, we did Not have ham for Thanksgiving.

The day after (again, much better weather than today), we went with our son and one of his friends to the Renaissance vestival. Much fun, much food...much walking. Too much money spent, but that is what happens, I suppose.

Today we only made a trip into town for groceries, then quickly back into my nice, warm cave!

Nothing like being told by your Dr. to stay off of your feet for at least 24 hrs...minus restroom Emergencies, of course.

Pros ~

1. Plenty of time to Relax.

2. Finished a book I was reading ~ Before They Were Hanged ~ Joe Abercrombie.

3. Started the next in the series ~ Best Served Cold.

4. My knee is feeling quite a bit better today, but not yet quite ready to run a Marathon! *Laugh*

Cons ~

1. Nothing...Nada has managed to get done around the house, and with Thanksgiving being hosted tomorrow, well, I was hoping for Something, at least.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The good thing is that it promises, as usual, to be a small gathering. Just Son (single...no kids), and daughter (3 Beautiful grandbabies in tow).
My daughter doesn't much like to participate in the makings of the feast, but my son, on the other hand...Truly Enjoys cooking (And Eating), so lots of assistance from him.
My 12 year old granddaughter will be making banana bread...Delicious. She has come such a long way in her baking skills. Two years ago, she tried baking sugar/cinnamon cookies, from Scratch. Everything would have turned out Spectacular, if she had not Confused Cayenne pepper...no Joke...with Cinnamon. This happened at her house, and I was kind of sad not to have had the opportunity to try them. Who knows...she may have been onto Something!
I sit here (doing Nothing other than typing this), awaiting my husband and son to return from a Fruitless deerless hunting trip. Unfortunately, the weather is so warm. All of the feeders at the lease continue to pump out corn, that is left Entirely uneaten.
My husband googled as he does, after the fact, that deer will not eat the corn if acorns are still falling from the oak trees. Unfortunately, all of the stands are on pine trees. Sigh. This will be my son's 3rd/4th year to come from Louisiana to go hunting, but has yet to get a deer. We keep hoping.
At 8:30 this morning, I had a triple injection in my knee for lost cartilage. Not Fun, but at least very quick. After the procedure...knee feeling Very sore, and am supposed to stay off of it today. I have been trying my Best, but...
I rolled into Walgreens drivethru right after I left the Dr., thinking maybe, just Maybe, 2 antibiotic prescriptions that the Dr. called in for something else, would be ready. I pulled in behind Several *CarO* 's, so thought my odds were pretty good. It was 30 mins before I pulled up to the window, but, Nada! They had not started the process yet.
That was unfortunate, as it meant Another trip to town, and specifically, another wait at Walgreens, once they contacted me with the Great news that my prescriptions were ready.
While talking with the pharmacist on the phone, I verified that they would be open another 40 mins before they closed for a meal break (30 mins). My drive to town takes 10 mins. Another 2 to reach Walgreens.
I pull in for the 2nd time today, and...WOW...the line is even longer than before.
The first thing I think is...'I am going to roll up to the window just as they are closing.'
The line Inches forward, until there is One truck in front of me, pulling away at 1:29. They close at 1:30. "Hurry...Hurry...Hurry!!"
Wait for it...you Know what I am about to share. I pull up as quickly as I can, and...SLAM...down goes the rolling window! How in the World does one manage to Jinx oneself to the exact moment?!
If Anyone can make it happen, it will be I. *Laugh* *Laugh* So...I sit there for Another 30 mins, 32, to be Exact, until they are Back in business.
Good news...I made it back home, managed to limp several feet to close my gate, then opened the front door to let my dog out. She had been waiting All day to go out. She made it to the porch, saw me limping around, cocked her head, and came right back inside to be with me. She can always tell when something is not quite as it should be with me, and she stays by my side. *HeartG*
What you are likely to encounter in these pages ~
Lighthearted nonsense on everyday chaos, because apparently, as my husband likes to point out, "I am Chaos!" It follows me around, just as He does, always attempting to bring order back where it belongs. He should find Another hobby, I say!
Stories that probably shouldn’t be public (for a multitude of reasons...some that neither you Nor I may ever discover) but, alas, here we are.
Sarcasm, because, well, that is me, as well. Playfully sarcastic that sounds slightly annoyed, but rarely is.
Random epiphanies, most of which occur when I am counting sheep (and already into the 3 digits...sigh).
And of course... humor, because if we don’t laugh at ourselves, someone else will. Probably often and loudly. And, when They do...I laugh all the louder...With them. ;)
But truly ~ I Love words. Don't we all? The way they make the moment come alive! I like making people laugh, even if it’s just an accidental snort (those Hurt, by the way) you deny as you are deep into the very action.
If you feel the desire to laugh, relate, escape, or mildly procrastinate from your responsibilities, I would love to visit. If nothing else, you’ll leave with the comforting realization that whatever chaos you have going on, at least you’re not writing a blog intro while overthinking the number of commas/ellipses. Because, that is Always fun, and, well...time-consuming.
