Happy Sunday, WdC! It's a foggy day here in the woods, so I'm enjoying some alone time with my second cup of coffee and some music, thinking about what I want to write next. I sometimes feel anxious about this hobby, like I'm either not writing enough, or the quality of my work leaves much to be desired. Yet, I do appreciate the honest feedback of my peers, and in times when I'm too hard on myself, I tend to refer back to pragmatic advice I've collected over the years. Here's one from "Everybody's Free (to Wear Sunscreen)" by Baz Luhrmann: Don’t waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind. The race is long and, in the end, it’s only with yourself. |
