The imagery is vivid and creative—comparing inner struggles to things like Mount Vesuvius is really powerful. But why Mount Vesuvius? I have not see this for a very long while now.

This is where humanity fail and can agree with you, "I created a problem for myself and lost all hope to solving it." Look at out world today...the more we try to solve the problems, the worse they get...but Christ can and will.
