The first stanza is impeccable. You conveyed exactly how I think most people, including myself, have felt at times. Especially people with those feelings of that awkwardness of "doing right" for the first time in a long time, if not for the first time at all. While, I myself am not a spiritual person anymore, I know that longing to be better for something. To be better for more than one's self. And while we differ in reasons for being better persons, it is a mutual feeling you conveyed very very well.
