Probably in a city if he didn't see the blow coming. Maybe his predator was hiding in the shadows. In an alley? Maybe the victim owns a seedy business and was leaving the backdoor?
The last line feels a little strangely punctuated. The phrase "he whispers my name night" is hard to parse what you meant.
I expect it to be more like:
He whispers my name. Night, night little buggy.
