Confused by “onerous.” Intrepid is a nice word to use though. Also, the punctuation at the end confused me—it seems a little sporadic. It reads more like an essay to me, however, I like how descriptive you are. “Generally display only the most congenial” is a nice phrase—it shows the character of the top players.
