When I first read this I thought I was reading a nursery rhyme but it more targeted to teens and their "what-ever" attitude. It kind of reminds back when I was in high school thinking about my future but at the same time dreading it. Do you write a lot targeting the young adult because I think many who are transiting from high school to the adult world would relate to this.
