I enjoyed the story, I think some of the wording could be changed to make it more grabbing. I'm also not sure if this is a protest story, or if supports the war, or simply just a story about war. I think regardless of your opinion on the war you could put a subtle overtone in the story showing your opinion. I do think the story was good and you seem to know your weapons and military equipment. Write on buddy...
