This poem takes me back to my own youth. My reaction to it is that of an ordinary reader, not someone who understands Poetry itself. I particularly like the ending, which evokes feelings most of us have experienced to one degree or another. A poem like this makes you want to turn back the clock.

Well done,

Review of The Angels

Biblical characters become real in this story and even if some of the incidents are invented, the reader wants to believe in them. I liked Melchior right from the beginning and it was a good idea for him to be the first to realise the boy was the one they'd been searching for.
Excellent.

P.S The footnote was interesting.

This is very entertaining. I like the way you tell a complete story in so few words.
No attempt is made to describe the characters. The reader does that for himself, through the dialogue, which makes them real through the things they say.
My favourite bit......."We need to respect nature............Now toss him in that trash can."
Well done.

Review of Shopper's Remorse

This is very funny. Anyone who has tried to stop smoking will sympathise with the poor woman in this story. The reader is on tenterhooks from the beginning and silently cheers her on. It's difficult not to jump ahead to see what happens in the end. Excellent.

This is disturbing. It describes with uncomfortable clarity the kind of situation so many of us are afraid of. The piece is very well written by an author who understands the subject.
The story is very touching. I don't know if it's true or not, but it's real to me.

I'm not surprised this is a competition entry: it should be-it's excellent. This is the kind of story you should read if you're looking for instant good mood. Some people
may wish this would happen to them. The end is very satisfying-just what it should be.
I'll read this again.

Review of The Bottle

This short piece is a delight to read.In very few words you've managed to invest a bottle with personality.I like the way it (he) reminisces about old friends.
Many people will recognise Andrew. Some of us have actually been him.
His honesty at the end suggests he and his old friend may part company eventually.
Well done.

It must be extremely difficult to write horror stories without producing a caricature. This story is almost too realistic. If it had been a film I would have covered my eyes the moment the 'cleansing' began.
The style is well suited to the grisly subject matter. The madman is extremely believable and I very much hope he's not headed my way.
The story is very well constructed and the readers' attention is held from start to finish.
Very good indeed.

This story had me smiling from the start.Myles is so realistically drawn you
almost believe he exists. You might even invite him over for a drink if only you could
be sure he'd arrive and leave by the front door.
I like the way the secondary character does'nt intrude on the action:this remains
Myles' story throughout.
The actual robbery scene is a little drawn-out- it would be good to have more of it described by Myles and I did'nt understand where that lady came from at the end.
I'd enjoy reading more of this kind of work.
