Wow, I really like this story idea. I want to read the rest now. Just one thing, who is Emily? She was only mentioned once and not introduced at all. I'm thinking it was a typo of some kind because Emily is not normally a nickname for Kaitlin, as far as I know. Keep up the good work. :)
