Not perfect poetry as you say, but very well written poetry just the same. It is a sad fact that there will always be the ; Eternal Soldier' no matter where the damn war is, or what it is about. Tis the adventure that calls, and tis some mother's son who falls.

What a sad story, but for all that a most enjoyable read. Your rhyming and rhythm is spot on and the words flow smoothly like water in a stream. Very well done indeed.

A lot of very helpful information is presented here. Fortunately it is readily understood because it is in everyday language. I rate this item as first class and very helpful to me for what I have in mind. I hope to post 12 poems about a specific bushfire and the people involved in both the fire and the recovery afterwards. Although the fire is specific, the poems could refer to any 'wild fire', anywhere in the world. Thank you for presenting such an informative item.
I think this is an excellent poem Dave. Largely because I understand its meaning. The choice of words let me be there, taking a passive part in the thought processes you have expressed. I can see no rerason to change anything at all.
