PRESENTATION STYLE: Beautifully written. Gentle in tone and easy on the reader. The passage has a warm feel to it and leaves the interpretation to the reader's discretion. There is the mystical element, which is appealing and opens up the passage to the young, experienced and curious minds alike. Has a "lost" kind of feel to it as in the series, yet maintains its own charm.
PLOT: Not a fast paced nail biter, but one would continue to read on for sheer curiosity. Thirty two people stranded on a deserted island, each in a different way are given an opportunity to go out of their world in to a new unsure one. Will they take it? What happens when they do? Do they make it?
MY INTERPRETATION : Somewhere there is an element that is reflective of optimism. The line "It was at that moment that seven of the eight boats turned towards the sunset, leaving one boat, Samantha’s vessel, to continue on towards the storm." is indicative of the same.
ANOTHER INTERPRETATION: Finding peace, going to a better place as in heaven. Stranded on an island, there is bound to be an intense desire of getting out. Once you are off the otherwise isolated place, any where else an opportunity will take you is a welcome change or is it?
TITLE : Appropriate but could have been more mystical in keeping with the destination. The subtitle "Everyone's journey is remarkable, even if you're stranded" however is very exciting and does the story more justice.
OVERALL : Wonderfully written. If the passage were to be continued, would definitely want to read on. Leaves you wondering about what happened and makes you define your own journey metaphorically!
