This is brilliant - I'm still trying to work out if this is a blessing or a curse..perhaps both! Your writing flows beautifully and I found myself reading with ease and really being able to picture that perfectly mowed lawn with it's hardly there imperfections. I suppose sometimes the things that boil our blood as youngsters can all be for a greater good in the long run...although perhaps striving for perfection is just too much to put on those so young.

I also love that you made the point of how the separation was a price you both would pay, that your wife is doing her part by continuing her life with you gone.
