What a nice story! It first caught my attention because as a child, I always had parakeets. (One of them did get away and I always looked for him and wondered what ever became of him.)

I thought you painted an excellent image of a bird's world. Your story is very well written and held my interest throughout. I like the "life lessons" you have managed to address within it as well.
