Light, it is there yet so far, far away...

My time


Light, it is there yet so far, far away
The dark always teasing and taunting me to stay

So close is the light that I can almost touch it
The dark reaches forward telling me to wait a bit

“Just a while longer,” oh I know how it lies
Pretending to be nice is just its disguise

But I know its secrets, I know its thoughts
I know its purpose and I know its wants

I will be free I will reach the light
I just have to wait till the timing is right

So I’ll crouch in the corner awaiting my time to spring
And then the day comes to be rid of this thing

I close my eyes and ears to the lies
And I run through the dark breaking the ties

I run to the light and then I am through
I look back to the dark to see his temper brew

How dare you leave me you were told to stay
I will be waiting for you another day

Another day when your guard is down
Another day I’ll be around
