An elderly lady comes to terms with her aging face, thanks to her granddaughter.
I look into the mirror and ask,
"Lord, where did I go?"
The wrinkles stare right back at me
As if they do not know.

While searching through old photographs,
I finally find myself.
I slip me in a picture frame
And set it on the shelf.

"Grandma, who's that lady?
Is she someone that we know?"
"Yes, my child, it's Grandma...
A long, long time ago."

She stares at my old photo
As if it could not be,
And says to me so sweetly,
"But that was before me."

The words she spoke were truthful
and made me realize
The wrinkles in the mirror are those
She'll always recognize.
