A philosophical poem about forgiveness, with some religious views in it. |
How to say the words? Those words we don’t feel like Can have any meaning anymore Why seek the forgiveness? What is the reason we always Always go to others To find what we Eventually May find within ourselves? I am not strong There is no way I can help Be of any help To anyone Helpless is the word The word that fits my position Can you restore me To my prior position, And at the same time Forgive me Can you, God? Sad at not getting an answer From out there Dragging down, all the feelings Forging them, ever so strong In solitude, the story went on A shadow passed A conscious shadow An earlier friend No, still a friend Dead is dead But what matters If not the future The Now Rising above the depth God had forsaken me I just left him alone And at that, the strength was found Strength I had recognized in God We live our own lives Who can forgive us If not our friends? Who can forgive us If not ourselves? If we cannot do the task Then why should God? We are the living The creatures with thought And with the strength Our lives combined Created the enmity The massive being In that we left our strength And mistook it for hope I rise above trial I do not kneel The power I gave Has been retaken My being is completed As forgiveness I grant As forgiveness received But I cannot take what is Yours to bear By releasing it, just forgive Forgive and forget They say No! Remember Remember to forgive Do not let that Be the domain of God For that is only What we want it to be We created it With all our power Our strength We got weak And in our weakness After being creative Turned away from ourselves And to the created Always remember Forgive and relish That it is you You who have forgiven In that we grant and we receive The forever sought Forgiveness |
