Entry for the 99 word story contest.

I’m always proud of the way I look. But one morning, thanks to a heavy rain, I had a lousy feather day. I tried sassafras juice, bear grease, wind-dry---every secret the elders had taught me. But my feathers stayed dull, limp and unmanageable. Even the sachem was stumped. “Beats me.” he said.

So I turned to Minnie Hee Hee. Even when she has no answer, she’s always good for a laugh. ”Buffalo pee,” she said with a chuckle.” You won’t smell good, but you’ll look great.” She was right. Now the other braves ask, “Who does your feathers?”
