Sometimes a hinderance is but help in disguise

Many lie in silent wait
not knowing what they do
to hinder those who travel
from ever passing through.

Tread lightly on the journey
lest you become a part
of those who try to finish
before they ever start.

Never let the "lag behinds"
that started with such zeal
hinder you in how you walk
or change the way you feel.

Tread lightly in your travel
in hopes that they will see
that life is more than living
for just "my four" and me.

Yes life is more than living
with only "me" in mind
for we are being measured
by what we leave behind

And those who lie in waiting
not knowing what they do
are only there to hinder
the one who would pass through.
