How did the tramp spend Christmas? Rhyme. Fiction.
The Tramp at Christmas.

Hurrying home on Christmas Eve
I left the bus and walked quite fast.
A tramp was sitting on a wall
without a glance I walked right past.

“Spare a coin?” I heard the call,
but I ignored the old man’s plea.
I had no time to talk to him
though he had time to talk to me.

Arriving in my cosy home,
I poured myself a glass of beer.
With friends and family all around;
the start of merry Christmas cheer.

When children sang a festive song
of kindness and goodwill to all.
I thought back to the lonely tramp
so cold and hungry on the wall.

I set off from my cosy home
and I began to search around.
I had a bag of food and drink,
but the tramp could not be found.

I missed the chance and failed the test;
you should help people when you can.
A single coin, a minute’s chat,
then I’d have been a better man.
