This is something that weighed on me....

We will destroy ourselves if we do not take heed, very soon, to our spiritual selves.  It does not matter what you call your Creator- whether it be “God”, “Buddha,” “Allah,” or in my case “Foo-lala.” All religions believe that their God created the earth and inhabitants. There is only one Earth, therefore, I believe that we all share the same God; calling Him by many different names. I find it very sad that we, as humanity, do not fully embrace each other as Brother and Sister because of our religious differences. We come from the same origin and I believe that each person carries a piece of the Creator’s spirit within his or her soul. When we come together, only then will we be able to put this universal puzzle together. You do not need to abandon your belief system, your religion, or your ways- I am only asking acceptance of those whose beliefs or ways may differ from your own.  As unique as we are as individuals- in regards to our culture, upbringing, and even our genetics- we are very similar in more ways than not.  We are all part of this race called humans. We feel the same emotions, love, anger, fear, and even hatred. We should feel a kinship because of our similarities rather than feed our prejudices because of the differences. We are set apart from other elements and inhabitants of the earth, but we need each other and all that our God has provided us to learn, grow, and survive. I think we must come together to save the Earth in order to save ourselves. Man’s inability to come together and live spiritually with each other and our Earth forewarns a dire outcome.

I believe that the spirit resides in every earthly thing. Water lives through us. Our bodies are 95 percent water, without it we would die. We live through the gift water provides. Yet, we pollute and deplete this resource. The tree breathes what we exhale; we in return breathe more freely because the tree returns pure oxygen to us. We dismiss the greatness of the tree's gift by cutting them down in mass and polluting it's environment with toxins. We must think ahead. If we feed poison, what will the tree then exhale for us to breathe? If we cut them down, what will provide the oxygen we need to survive?

The animals of the Earth not only provide us with nourishment but can provide spiritual guidance as well. We abuse our animal brothers and sisters by taking them for granted.  They are killed in great numbers, in cruel ways, to adorn our dinner tables. How often do we thank the animal for providing us with the food we eat? When do we remember to thank the tree, the water?  When do we come together as a people and stop taking for granted these wonderful gifts that ‘The Spirit Who Created All’ has gifted us?  When do we come together to appreciate the wondrous glory of each and every thing, including each other as unique and beautiful humans? When do we realize we are stronger together, as a whole?  We can complete the puzzle, if we learn to live in respect, love, and unity. Will we ever learn?

I am scared.
