Another poem written as a teenager. 1996
Once upon a clear night
While mortals sleep and the moon beams bright
An ebony shadow whispered into my window

He woke my silence like the devil awakes souls
With green eyes glowing, he told me of a far off world
Where sick hungry ghosts roam in their midnight chambers
And mourning souls grow lonely in their eternal prison

Where stars never fade and burning velvet curtains live by nights breeze
Undying ashes fall like rain and left over embers soil the ground

In the midst of the day, underworld sea demons prepare fantastic terrors for their feeble beasts
The frozen silver stain of a bloody path leads the way to a maidens tomb

In the fiery brightness of the morning the ancient sun rises to set an end to devils play
