A very old poem about heartbreak

You had my heart in your hands
as if it were dirt or sand.
I thought I knew you,
I thought you were the one;
but you just used me up
as if I were no one.
You walked out of my life
pretending that you cared.
The pain of your absence
left me scared.
What should I do,
where should I go?
You've broken my heart
and weakened my soul.
