Why Have I Lost the Wonder

Why can't I see the miracle in all that's around me?

Why have I lost the wonder,
God?
Why am I not surprised?
By the miracle of creation,
And all its awesome sights.

I ignore the soaring eagle,
Spread his wings to fly,
And I fail to see the ocean
Reflect the deep blue sky.

I bypass the winding off-road
Adventures to be prized,
And I do not stop to question
The turtle old and wise.

I avoid the loving mother,
Then miss a baby's sigh,
And in haste to start the day,
I miss a grand sunrise.

I see now that I'm jaded,
Please listen to my cry.
Why have I lost the wonder,
God?
Why am I not surprised?
