A sonnet on not letting my pride get in the way of dealing with my depression.

"Beware the Ides of March" she said to you,
Though pride caused you to scoff at wise advice.
Yet cryptic words she prophesized were true,
And shadow stole what once was Rome's delight.
My inner sage gives hints of pending doom
Of coming clouds to veil my joy and bliss.
Each sign predicts the wave of coming gloom
That leads directly to a dark abyss.
I choose to walk a different path than he
And heed to counsel's tale of brewing storms.
Yield to what my spirit does foresee.
Avoid the path of wreckage I have sworn.
My Ides of March foreshadow hopelessness,
But Cesar's pride won't lead to dark distress.
