EASY instructions for creating a B-item link
Easy Instructions for Creating a B-item Link

The reason this is so important is because it is the way we share our poems and stories with others at Writing.com. As a rule, the contest host requires that contestants post a b-item link in the contest forum. If you are looking for a contest to enter, check out the Activities Page ("Activities @ Writing.Com). You can also send b-item links through e-mail to other members if you want them to review an item. Another great way to use b-item links is to place one or more in your signature block so that every time you send out an e-mail, you are highlighting one or more of your items.

There are lots of ways to link your item, but the most commonly used is the
b-item link. The b
stands for "big". This link is the one that gives the most information about your item.

Before beginning, you need to understand the difference in these three punctuation marks:

{ } braces
( ) parenthesis marks or (plural) parentheses
[ ] brackets

Here's how you create a b-item link:
1. Type a left brace like this { .
2. Type b-item like this: {b-item .
3. Type a colon like this: {b-item: .
4. Type the ID number of the item you want to link, like this: {b-item:1768111.
5. Add the right brace } Now your link looks like this: {b-item:1768111}.

6. The link you have created will look like this:
