Remembering a lovable character. A Monorhyme Poem of 20 lines. For the Writer's Cramp.

      Remembering Stan.

Old Stan was an amazing bloke,

with crooked teeth and a voice that croaked.

His belly fat would often provoke

a laugh or two, from the city folk.

I likened Stan to a large old oak,

with textured skin I'd want to poke.

Every day kind words he spoke,

with a cheery smile and awesome joke.

Poor old Stand was always broke,

a kin, to peaceful gentlefolk.

A man who’d down five rye and coke,

for the gathering crowd he would convoke.

Early one morning to the phone I woke.

My friend said “Stan died of a stroke!

He fell in the patch of artichokes,

while struggling to light a smoke.”

I miss my Stan, such tears I choke.

I declare he was an awesome bloke.

So sad I was, the day Stan croaked.

Oh my! I’m feeling so heart broke.
