A thought about overcoming addiction.

Rising Above


I might stop today;

Hiding in shadows to follow the moon,

Running from echoes that never prevail,

Numbing my spirit,

Destroying my soul.



I might stop today,

To whisper hope on the wind,

Breathe life to stagnant corners of my mind,

Renew my spirit,

Refresh my soul.



I might stop today,

And take back what was lost,

Fight for what is real,

Accept the gift of my spirit,

The love of my soul.



I might stop today,

While others walk with me,

I might stop.
