Musings of a Parisian Pigeon.

As I perch on this grand Eiffel Tower today,
I look out at the city of Paris and say
as a Pigeon I’m lucky to be in Paree
because there are so many cool niches for me.

And it’s not a surprise Paris remains the place
for vacationers from ‘round the world to embrace.
In my flights as I coo, tourists treasure the sights
as they fully partake of the City of Lights.

Though I’m simply a pigeon at home overhead,
I see lines at the Louvre where so many are led.
On the Champs-Elysées* people mill to and fro;
so beloved an avenue where people go.

I see so many people on boats in the Seine,
(I try to comprehend though I have a bird brain).
International flavor this vacation spot;
a temptation becomes me so I fly a lot.

Dare I drop ordinance as I fly through the air
just because there are so many tourists down there?
They’ve the right to vacation in cities of fame,
yet as I fly about everybody’s fair game.

Charles Lindberg flew non-stop on spirited wing,
and today people fly here for vacationing.
Though I’m merely a pigeon, please lend me an ear:
I am proud of my role as a French Bombardier.
