A small poem I came up with to honor a great man who made people laugh.
The halls now echo silence,

Though many still walk the path.

Stayed were hands of violence,

By the skill to make you laugh.

As great men fall in battle,

So too was another slain.

No sword nor gun made his rattle,

But he had a killer just the same.

A disease that slowly took him,

A struggle, quiet fought.

spirits flagged, and outlook grim,

still much joy he brought.

No more does he struggle,

No more shall he smile.

But we will again chuckle,

Once we have healed a while.

For a second bow your head,

An era has come to pass.

Remember words once said,

from his movies of the past.

Silence echoes in the halls,

Attention and ten-hut.

It is the curtains final fall

The director's final cut.

Farewell, Robin Williams.
