Did you say you love me,
Can you count the ways,
Is your love based on feelings,
After all, emotions fade, degrade, erode away.

Love is an action,
Something you do,
Run to,
Look to,
Continually commit to,
Are you willing to entrust all of you.

Will your love immensely swell,
Will this love never fail,
Will it withstand all the weapons that life unveils.

Can your love count it all lost --lay it on the cross,
Can it forget its last past not levy a cost.

Can this be the verge or is it an urge,
Can you do this in faith --not a carnal purge,
Can you fathom a new frontier --anticipate, prognosticate, contemplate a spiritual merge.
