a short poem about children
The Curiosities of Angels

The curiosities of angels
They pull the wings off of flies.
They magnify ants in the middle of summer.
They stare at the sun in the skies.

The curiosities of angels
They charge their dollies rent.
They build blocks of blocks with all the best.
They plan to be president.

The curiosities of angels
They put butterflies in jars.
They feed moths to the delight of spider's webs.
They put aliens on Mars.

The curiosities of angels
They braid their dollies hair.
They can’t keep clothes on their skinniest Barbie.
They can’t sleep without Herr Bear.

The curiosities of angels
They search far and wide for treasure.
They collect rocks and string as jewelry.
They are loved beyond all measure.
