The all-to-true story of many people with schizophrenia in America.
|“First time, I was fourteen. Ma told me to eat the carrots. When I stabbed them with my fork, they hollered and bled. I told Ma, but she yelled, ‘Lord Jesus, stop making up Devil’s lies.’ I got down two bites, but the carrots were screaming in my mouth. I couldn’t eat no more, so I got belted. Then the two bites starting yelling inside my head. Every day, they tell me to die. Only thing that shuts them up is getting high. But that don’t matter no more. My shark says I’m going down for life.”|
