A sweet young 'girl' says 'no' in more ways than one...

he’d been born Barbara Jean, but for as long as she could remember her moniker had always been ‘Barbie’, like that famous doll every little girl on the planet just had to have. And just like that doll, every little boy at school would tease her and pull one of her arms or legs off, or twist her head off and put a G.I. Joe head on her perfect little body. Sometimes they’d just throw her body parts around the playground. She was always coming back in late after recess, having had to look for her arm or leg or her head through Joe’s eyes, and on the times when she couldn’t find some of her body parts, the teacher would ask her why she ‘wasn’t all there’.

The teasing and the dismemberments continued all through her grade school years and even into junior high, but by the time she was a freshman in high school the boys had started paying attention to her perfect little body. How could a freshman have such a perfect figure like that? they wondered.

And nobody was replacing her head with G.I. Joe’s or ripping her legs and arms off anymore. Life was good, or at least she thought it was. But at the same time she realized there were a lot of other girls who seemed to be jealous of her. Nobody was paying attention to them. But why? It wasn’t her fault that she’d been born with a perfect 36 inch bust, 24 inch waist, and 36 inch hips. And they never went through the torture that she’d gone through in her younger years.

It just didn’t seem right. She didn’t mean to be so popular. She didn’t even want to be so popular. She just was.

And then came the Senior Prom, when the varsity quarterback asked Barbie to be his date. She could hardly believe it! From having to endure having her head twisted off and her limbs ripped from her body as an adolescent, now she was going to the biggest dance of the year with the Big Man On Campus!

The Prom couldn’t have been any more perfect. They were the center of attention, she with her frilly pink chiffon dress, and her date with his perfectly pleated three piece tuxedo as they danced the final dance under the spotlight in the middle of the gymnasium.

But it was after the Prom as her date was taking her home when things started going sour. Instead of taking her straight home, he pulled over and parked behind a 7/11. Unfastening his seatbelt, he began what he thought was the ritualistic ending to a perfect Prom night.

But Barbie was not going to allow her perfect little body to be violated.

With a twist here, and a twist there, she abruptly brought the date to an end.

Ken’s head was never found, nor were some of his other manly parts.
