Throughout life, some circumstances and people will be destroyed beyond repair.
During existence, there will be the tangible and intangible
that will meet an unexpected and untimely destruction,
so that ideals are not only broken, but shattered.
No matter the depth of one’s despair,
no matter how much one wrings ones hands,
some ideals are beyond repair.
The combat veterans who fought for our freedom
came home with missing limbs and scarred minds,
from the horrors of wars in other countries.
Many have painful scars, or are filled with fear and despair.
Physicians can fit prostheses and give medicines,
but there are those who know that they are beyond repair.
A child is suffering who has repeatedly been bullied
with vile spew filled with hateful, racial epithets,
day after day, on the school playground.
Planting seeds of bias, hate and despair,
they take root and grow, he has learned to trust no others,
and his love for himself is now beyond repair.
Massive genocide reducing innocent populations,
in ritual slaughtering of the innocent lambs,
while having to step over burning babies.
Collecting tears and fears throughout the earth,
for years the world did not acknowledge the suffering,
as if the victims had no dreams, no hopes, no souls, no worth.
Abortions for convenience’s sake or birth control,
fetuses are forcefully ripped from their mothers’ wombs,
with excruciating pain, as they silently scream for life.
Never taking their first breath,
they are now altered souls, while protesters cry outside clinics,
“Pro-choice” or” Pro-life”, was not asked of those put to death.
People with stellar character,
who daily practice ethics and morality,
and believe in a power much greater than our own,
work diligently to make the pain disappear.
They will help heal broken bodies, minds, and souls,
so that some are no longer doomed to being beyond repair.
For those who are truly beyond repair,
we can pray fervently for their souls,
to find the peace with their God,
for which they so desperately wished.
The sun will continue to rise
as the phoenix cries.
