Encouraging words for her high school graduation
So Still

So Still...
So Still was the water until she touched.
What once was a placid ocean of calm
are now rings of ripples she set in motion with one single touch.

Know this, sweet Princess.
Your ripples have power. The power to sway, the power to effect,
the power to change the very universe that created you.
Just put enough of your ripples together to become a mighty tsunami.

So Still was the wind, until she first exhaled.
Then, it carried your cries for warmth and nourishment
But your sweet song has matured by the by.

Know that you now have voice to soothe, voice to encourage
And voice to protest the wrongs of this universe.
Use whatever medium you need, but shout your voice on high.
Whether by instrument of notes or by pen, or by the instrument of cyber.

So Still was the ground, until she walked.
From a pitter patter of steps to hopefully an intrepid adventurer.
I want for you to stride with confidence into the future.
You are of age to dream of your Earthly destiny and chart your course.

Pick lofty ports of call and learn from cultures different from your own
I am so very proud of you Asia and this is what I want you to know...
This Earth is the clay between your hands my love,
Know that you can shape it.
