A cavern that holds answers for a lost soul

The sky was crystal clear with a slight hint that the moon was about to create it's luminescent light across the skies. There was only a deep sigh from Lina as she rested against a rock feeling as though a connection was there. She was sure that she just didn't belong here on this earth. Yet she had to have a purpose. One that she couldn't make sense of. Thinking back to be a child, she had no valued friends that she could remember. School was hard and harder to learn when packed into a class room of thirty five students or more. Her mother wasn't fond of the idea that she chose to pull herself out when she was of age and continued her schooling from home. She didn't want a degree of any kind and wasn't interested in any of the things other kids wanted. There was more and she just couldn't put her finger on it. The world is a big place and Lina is only a small 5'7”, 119 lbs, blue eyes and fair skin. She always knew people were different, not so different in looks but not the same as herself. Her connection with the stars and cosmos was way greater than she even knew herself.

Always drawn towards the light, the unknown and wonderment of the earth, Lina had to wonder what it was all about. People can be so cruel and corrupt. Inside she felt as though she were here before and feels sad as to the way the world is changing. So she decided to travel. See things in a new light, help people and ask for nothing more than inner peace. Whether it was something she felt she had to do or something she wanted to do she wasn't sure.

The nights on the other side of the world were enchanting and the further she traveled the less uptight she felt. Lina had no problems with working for people just for a place to lay her head and food in her stomach. If she made any money she would make sure there was enough to go to the next place. Extras were not her interest. The extra money she would make she would use it for the good of someone less fortunate. There were many unfortunate people in the world. So much so it left an ache in her heart. Her only solace was to sit out at night and look for answers in the stars.

Without a destination and only her intuition, Lina finds herself in Indonesia. Without knowing why she tried to settle and find herself. At this point she felt lost, so far from home yet not wanting to go back. She needed a connection of some sort. Maybe she was lonely now and needed friendship. There were many tourists and people seeking truth and wisdom from Buddhist Temples. Some from their own country and others from around the world.

This was the first place she felt some comfort, but it wasn't the answer. Overwhelmed and feeling defeated as to her purpose in life, Lina started to withdraw. She couldn't find it in herself any longer to help others when she couldn't help herself.

“Child, are you hungry?”

Lina was sitting on the ground with her knees up and her head buried, she didn't raise her eyes. “No, no I am not hungry but thank you.”

“Why so sad? Are you lost?” The man was kind and older yet held a great posture. He was confident.

“Well, you could say that, yes. I am lost in the world one might say. I am a traveller of sorts. My mother says I am a free spirit or a lost soul, she isn't sure yet.”

“Child give me your hand.”
Lina was reluctant but slowly reached up and took the man's hand allowing him to lift her up from the ground. Meeting eye to eye, he smiled at Lina.

“Your eyes, they are so blue and your skin so fair. You surely are not from here dear girl.”

Lina gave a meager smile thinking the man was being kind but she wasn't sure what his intentions were. He was a bit mysterious.

“Aw yes, I can feel your need to help others and you want the world to change. Is this true?”

Lina stepped back and couldn't believe that by one touch this man knew something so personnel. Something only she was aware of still questioned.

“Well yes? I mean I feel that way, but”

The man had no name. He wouldn't say or didn't give her room to ask. “Lina, I want you to head to this Island and there you will find your answers.”

He placed a piece of paper with directions to Lina and left. He quietly left leaving a smile on his face. Lina was left feeling intrigued by this man. For the first time in a very long time, Lina felt as though her life was taking a turn.

Without hesitation Lina prepared for her trip to the island and on this island was multiple caverns. Yet the man with no name circled one specifically.

Of course as she arrived there were tourists and rules to go by. The anticipation was getting the best of Lina as her body felt warmer and a rush in her blood. She felt like a child again.

Finally walking into the first tunnel there were scripts of writing on stone walls with pictures of different cylinders and what they meant. Parents stopping to try and enlighten their children of knowledge aside from the wow factor. Lina walked around them shaking her head and wondering why parents have to be so controlling. She knew the world was a mystery and she knew that life was quite short, it felt as though she had been in this very spot before.

As the tunnels ran deeper to the center of the cavern there were light pearl water droplets and gently fell into the amazing blue water settled right under the middle of the cavern. The very little light that came through small cracks created colors from the minerals mixed with the water. The cleanest water untouched by man. Now that is something.

Lina wanted to touch the water so badly but the ropes kept it safe at bay. Through the voices of the crowds Lina's ears perked as she heard a quiet voice calling her name, “Lina, Lina over here. Just follow my voice.”

Her body froze. Nobody could know her name. She spoke to nobody since she arrived. The only person she could think of was that man with no name. Then she went into shock. He knew her name even then and she didn't say a thing. How could she be so foolish as to ask him how he knew.

Creeping into the crowd without causing a fuss, Lina followed the voice. It lingered, wavering in and out of hearing it clearly. The closer she became the warmer she felt. Not a heated body heat but a heart warming feeling. Finally after some ins and outs of tunnels there was a shimmer like no other she had ever seen. The bluest light of with white specs that flickered through it as though they were dancing. “Child, you have come home.”

“Home? This is my home? No sorry I am just a girl who is curious of the world.” She chuckled thinking maybe this was a gimmick.

“Lina put your hand in the light.”

Lina's hand slowly raised towards the blue light as her other hand stayed firm, clutched to her purse. As her hand lifted higher she felt a compelling tingle throughout her body. It was as if she were coming out of her body.

“You see Lina, you belong here. You have done your time. A second life here on earth.”

“My second time? I did this before?”

“Of course you have child. Soon you will be a star light. The kindness in your heart has spilled everywhere you have been. The more you struggle the closer you are to us. So many questions still. Here take a look at yourself.”

As Lina turned around and faced what looked like a waterfall was now glass. A mirror with shimmering lights that glittered her image. Standing there staring at someone she knew but had never seen before.

“I am blue.. a blue half human with diamonds around me. Is this for real?”

"Lina, please touch the mirror. Get to know yourself again. You have been gone for some time and the second time around. It isn't long from this end but for you it is two life times. You are our indigo child from the stars. Trust me I know. I have been your spirit light for a very long time.”

Lina touched the mirror tracing her face and touching her lips. The center of her chest illuminated white light. “This is me. I am home. This is where I have been struggling to reach all my life. Please don't make me go back. I want to stay here, with you- our home.”

A warmth embraced her without seeing anyone she knew it was her guide. “In this cavern we can stay as long as we want. The temperature is perfect to keep us from harm. But the world is still under great danger and I don't know Lina when you will have to go back. For now, embrace who you are and tell me everything you have learned.”

“I don't know where to begin. This world these humans live in is so wonderful to some but yet they are so ungrateful and others are destitute and nothing but struggle. The whole world is unbalanced.”

“I know dear. It has been happening for quite some time. You are young with much to learn, but you have many life times to teach.”

“I am so tired. Can't I stay for a bit longer?”

“Of course you can.”

Lina woke from her slumber feeling overwhelmed and lost. Looking around her she noticed that the cavern was closed to tourists. How was she supposed to get out? Her memory is foggy of anything that has happened leaving her in doubt of her safety. Beside her was a prism of the most deepest color of indigo. She picked it up and felt secure. It gave her peace of mind; the very thing she had been chasing most of her life.
