AUTUMN (2)

...a demonstration of personification

Bereft of life,
leaves flush invigorating color---
red, orange and yellow---

poised dispatch from thriving trees,
transition toward dormancy
after a cold snap, winter salutation.

Brilliance Falls---enchanting,
circulating, undulation of dance---and
northerly winds whisper frost

over a bespeckled terrain
caressed and warmed by shifting quilts
designated by solemn, bowing branches.
