A story with very little use to humanity.
"Jessie! Where are you?" called out Jessie's big sister, Stephi.

Silence in the green-painted room filled to the brim with plushies big and small.

"Mom says that dinner's ready!"

Not a peep.

Stephi sighed. "She's making corn dogs."

Jessie bolted out from behind a giant teddy bear, her wavy red-brown hair flying out behind her like a flag.

"Well, why didn't you say so in the first place?" she asked a few minutes later when everyone was congregated at the dinner table.

"Because," said Stephi with exasperation in her voice, "You can't only come to dinner when it's something you like! Food isn't optional."

Jessie grinned mischievously. "I was always going to come out."

Stephi rolled her eyes. "What, ten minutes later? Until I tore apart your room?"

"Now, now, girls," said their mother. "Don't be rude to your sister, Stephi."

Jessie stuck out her tounge.

"Same goes for you, missy," said their father.

The girls both pouted a little, then resumed eating in silence. After dinner, they decided to make mixed berry smoothies.

"Oh boy!" Jessie enthused as she opened the freezer door, rooting around for the frozen strawberries. "I haven't had a smoothie in weeks!"

"Maybe because you were too busy with ice cream," grumbled Stephi, irritated by her sister's cheer.

Jessie, oblivious, started the blender and got out the Hello Kitty cups out of the drawer.

"C'mon, Jessie, those are the baby cups!"

Jessie gave her big sis a sideways glance and kept going. She poured the berry purée into the cups, giving herself extra.

"Don't look at me like I just stole all your jeans!" said a flustered Stephi after sipping her smoothie in silence.

"You're being an angry dragon," mumbled Jessie.

"How can I stop being an 'angry dragon'?" asked Stephi, making quotation marks in the air.

After a few minutes, they were in Jessie's room, pretending some of her plushies were traveling through a forest and fighting monsters. Stephi had to admit that it was pretty fun.

When Lunalie the cat hopped her way into the forest, she ran into a circle of sqeaky-voiced animals who formed the Sisterhood Of The Scrunchie Supremo. She joined them on a quest to save The Scrunchie Supremo, and all other scrunchies. When they finally succeeded to free all the scrunchies from their hairy situation, Stephi stretched out her back and yawned.

"Well, I'm beat," she said.

Jessie smiled and Stephi's heart melted a little.
