Rain: grey, oblivion, silk and luminous

Rain Heaven's poetry
Like the delicate voice of a soprano
The crystal notes of a Hayden symphony
High on the banks of the Hudson River
where flora in the springtime grows

Up north on the Maine coast
Overpowering forces of nature
Chattering storms winds sighing
Nor'easters, Riding the waves
The lighthouse a beacon of hope

Raining long straight streaks
into New York's Lake Mohonk
Darkness creeps in ever so slowly
The song thrush sings its sweet lullaby
gentle with echo-like tones

Hiking with camera in Yellow Springs PA
March days are grey wet and somber
The clouds gather in crowds
Rain speaks like a ghostly other
Weeping rains never moan

Stealing the last of the daylight hours
Tefnut lioness goddess of rain
Cools life's burning aches and sorrows
With a melody of remembrance
The rain cloud's mutating silhouette

Grey oblivion, silk and luminous
Leaves us without a trace

*Tefnut is recorded as the ancient Egyptian
religious goddess of rain and water
