How to measure a relationship
With a head-fake and a couple of kissies to the air
We can celebrate perfunctorily how little we care

By a restrained lean-in we might be a bit bolder
With the barest brush and mutual clap of shoulder

More likely, though, we bend deeply from the waist
In familial embrace most common yet chaste

One can sense the interest like hopeful crossed fingers
When the press of chests squeezes tightly and lingers

It's the full-bodied clutch from neckline to the hips
That expresses the tacit longing of libido and lips

That same grand-scale hug given lightly with less intensity
Reveals who are old lovers with naughty propensity
