A brief paragraph describing the heartwarming feeling of being with family.
A retriever looking up to his master has just returned the red ball and is patiently waiting for another throw to fetch. Mama dog, her name is Goldie, is off to the side caring for the pups. Soon the ball is thrown, and both Goldie and Papa bolt after it. The pups are panicked at first. They start to whimper in the absence of mom. Goldie gets to the ball first and Papa follows her back to the master. The pups swarm both mama and papa when they return, as if to say, “Don’t leave us again!” A wind howls and dry maple leaves start to flip-flop across the lawn. One pup notices a leaf and plays with it in her paws. Then another and another until the whole lawn is littered with a litter of pups playing with leaves. They tumble around on the green grass chasing after the leaves while the soft, steady wind brings a chill to the golden sunlight of late autumn. The moments stretch on. It feels like hope. It feels like family. It feels like the holidays.
