This is beginning of life. It was supposed to be a contest entry, but I didn't get there.
Cradled in the womb of space,
Infant Gia was formed.
Pink fingers grasped at stars,
But never caught any.
They were so far away.

Once Gia was taller,
Up she reached again.
This time she caught something!
In her reach was Luna.
How she shined,
Oh-so bright in the dark!
Together they would rule.
Rule this universe.

Gia grew curves,
hollows,
And plains.
There she was covered.
Covered with a green blanket.
The blanket seemed hectic,
Covered with specks-
Always moving.

Finally, Gia came to her halt.
She had stopped growing.
Now people watched over her.
They maintained the specks,
her green blanket,
And also grasped for stars.

This was the beginning of life.
